It is undeniable that artificial intelligence is advancing by leaps and bounds and its impact on various industries is becoming increasingly evident. Companies like Amazon have demonstrated how the strategic implementation of AI can revolutionize the way we do business.

It is undeniable that artificial intelligence has enormous potential to drive progress in a wide range of fields, from medicine to manufacturing to logistics. Its ability to process large amounts of data, identify patterns and make quick and accurate decisions is something that can greatly benefit businesses and society at large.

AI has the potential to drive business efficiency and solve complex problems. And this is where Amazon, the global eCommerce giant, comes in.

Speeding up deliveries with Artificial Intelligence.

Amazon is focusing on using artificial intelligence to speed up deliveries by minimizing the distance between its products and customers, a senior executive has told CNBC.

Stefano Perego, vice president of global customer fulfillment and operational services for North America and Europe at Amazon, explained how the company is using AI in logistics.

One area is transportation, such as mapping and route planning, taking into account variables such as weather, Perego said.

Another area is when customers search for products on Amazon to help them find the right merchandise.

But a key aspect for Amazon right now is using AI to figure out where to place its inventory.

"I think one area we see as key to reduce the cost of service is inventory placement," Perego says.

Amazon also uses robotics in its distribution centers to help with repetitive tasks such as lifting heavy packages.

The company claims that 75% of Amazon's customer orders are handled in part by robotics.

There is debate about how robotics and artificial intelligence, such as the ChatGPT AI chatbot developed by startup OpenAI, will affect employment. A Goldman Sachs report earlier this year suggested that there could be "significant disruption" in the global labor market and that automation would affect 300 million jobs.

Perego described automation as "collaborative robotics," underscoring how Amazon sees humans and technology working together.

"I think what's happening is really a transformation of the type of jobs," Perego said.
